Prior to your initial consultation Kim will ask you to complete an online form about your condition and medical history, this helps her understand your problems prior to your appointment. During your consultation we will discuss your current health history and other pertinent information that may be related to your presenting complaint. After this consultation you will undergo an examination that includes neurological, orthopaedic and postural evaluation.
It helps to wearing loose, casual clothing. You will always be asked to remove your shoes and coats etc. You might also be asked to remove some items of clothing, especially at your initial examination, gowns and private changing is available.
No, your care plan will be outlined on your second visit to Kim Garnham Chiropractor and then with your informed consent you will receive your first Chiropractic Adjustment. If you are in acute pain Kim will give you advise at your first consultation, in addition email Kim or add notes to your first visit appointment and arrangements can be put in place to start care as soon as possible.
Each person is unique and the amount of care you require will depend on a number of factors that Kim will discuss with you at your Report of Findings or Review appointment. Most people will notice a change in their symptoms within the first 2-3 visits but full recovery can take longer and it is important to keep scheduled visits, at any time discuss with Kim your care plan.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is safe and is a gentle way to promote comfort, minimise back pain, and may reduce the stresses and strains on your body both during pregnancy and after birth. During pregnacy a womens body changes, these changes include softening of the ligaments, weight increase and changes in posture. This can lead to extra pressure through joints in the body including those of the spine and pelvis. You may suffer, at any stage of your pregnancy, from general aches and pains, including back pain, and chiropractic care may be able to help you. Kim uses safe and gentle techniques that are suitable during each stage of your pregnancy and your condition. We have a specially designed support cushion which allows you to comfortably and safely lay on your tummy.
Yes Kim Garnham is a Chiropractic Paediatric specialist, a Qualified Craniopath and a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractors Paediatric Faculty. She has 40 plus years of experience in treating babies and children.
Try to continue with normal daily activities, Kim will advise you what to avoid or to do to advance your healing. Many times she will advise to take a short walk following your adjustments, especially if you have to drive any distance. It is normal to feel a little achy in the 72 hours following your treatment, if this is concerning you please make contact so Kim can see if this would be a normal progression.
You do not need a GP referral to book an appointment. It is useful if you have your medication/prescription list and if you can access any reports for tests, especially x-rays or scans if they pertain to your condition. These are often available if you have the NHS app but are not essential for your first consultation.
